About the Economic Alliance
What is the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley?
It is a private, non-profit economic development and marketing corporation that works with public and private stakeholders for the purpose of growing and sustaining the economic base of the San Fernando Valley, and improving the quality of life in our five-city region (Calabasas, Burbank, Glendale, Los Angeles and San Fernando).

What is its corporate structure?
The Economic Alliance is a California not-for-profit charitable organization as designated by IRS code 501(C)(3). A General Board of Directors of 150 member governs us according to our by-laws. Of those Directors, 33 also serve on an Executive Committee led by a Chairman, President, three Vice Chairs and a Treasurer.

How is the Alliance financed?
The Alliance has an annual operating budget of approximately $1.4 million, all of which comes from investor donations, special projects and events, or foundation grants.

Since launching the “Valley of the Stars” Street Banner campaign in 1998, more than 1,000 of these colorful banners have been displayed throughout the Valley cities of Burbank, Calabasas, Glendale, Los Angeles, and San Fernando.
Who are its strategic partners?
American Institute of Architects--San Fernando Valley Chapter, Asian Business Association, Valley Industry & Commerce Association (VICA), United Chambers of Commerce (UCC), Valley Economic Development Center (VEDC), Southland Regional Association of Realtors (SRAR), San Fernando Valley Conference & Visitor's Bureau, Valley International Trade Association (VITA), Valley Leadership Institute (VLI) and Small Manufacturers Association of California (SMA).

Who administers and manages the Alliance?
The Alliance has a professional staff of nine: a President & Chief Executive Officer, a Director of Education and Workforce Investment, a Director of Economic Development, a Director of Marketing, Tourism and International Trade, a Director of Business & Investment Development, an Office Manager, two Special Project Assistants and an Administrative Assistant. The Alliance operates from permanent offices at 5121 Van Nuys Boulevard in Sherman Oaks, California (see directions below).
