The 11th
annual Valley of the Stars Gala Dinner &
Awards Ceremony was a huge success with 550
guests decked out in their finest to
celebrate this year’s 2008 “Stars of the
Valley” on July 26 at The Walt Disney
Studios.Master of Ceremonies Wink Martindale
set the stage for this year’s honorees: The
Daily News – Business - Doug Hanes,
publisher, accepting; Pierce College –
Education – Robert Garber, president,
accepting; Ron Kaye – Leadership; Harry
Pregerson – Humanitarian; and actress Sally
Field – Arts & Entertainment.
Guests walked the red carpet to a colorful
recreation of the winery depicted in Ms.
Field’s popular ABC television show
“Brothers & Sisters.” Musicians representing
Pierce College provided the entertainment
during the reception and the dinner. Just
prior to the ceremony, Lisa Pitney,
government affairs director for The Walt
Disney Studios introduced a spectacular
video of the world class entertainment
giant.
Prior to each of the five honorees accepting
their “Star,” attendees were treated to
short brilliant video presentations
displaying just why they were selected as
this year’s recipients. And immediately
following the awards ceremony, guests were
treated to a dazzling dinner “under the
stars” in Disney’s Legendary Plaza. |
